We will negotiate a contract/way of working that is tailored to you. Depending upon what you need/want/bring we can decide on the number of sessions and manner in which we work. I am able to work short or long term and to take the work to whatever depth suits you.
While I am ready to explore whatever issues you bring, I particularly enjoy working with sensitive, deep thinkers who want to understand themselves and their place in the world. And also people who are facing (or avoiding!) changes and transitions in their lives. I feel it is important to acknowledge the differences between us and how they shape our experiences.
I offer a free 30 minute zoom ‘discovery’ session, where we can meet each other and decide if we want to begin working together.
Before training as a therapist I was a teacher and have taught in a number of settings in the UK and overseas. I have also worked in administration and retail roles, within the NHS, local government, charities and the private sector. In everything I have done I have always been interested in people, and life’s big questions.
Since graduating with a Post Graduate Diploma in Person-centred Counselling in 2009 I have worked as a therapist and supervisor within the Education sector, a range of charities and in Private Practice. During the pandemic I volunteered to provide counselling to frontline employees in the NHS. I have taught on a number of Counselling training courses, from Introduction level through to Foundation Degree. Contributing to the development of new therapists has bought me great pleasure and satisfaction.
My qualifications include:
In order to stay well informed and up to date with my knowledge I regularly undertake further training.
I have been a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2007, and am listed on their register. I achieved BACP Accredited status in 2015.
As a member of the BACP I work within their Ethical Framework and am committed to providing a confidential and professional counselling and psychotherapy service.
I am also a member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy online (ACTO) and the Creative Counselling Community.
